Former Njord PhD-candidate, Audun Skaugen, receives His Majesty the King's Gold Medal.The medal will be awarded at a prize ceremony at the annual celebration of the University of Oslo on September 2st.

Njord's annual report for 2018 has finally arrived!
Njord has announced a new postdoctoral research fellowship in computational physics. The appointment is a fulltime position and is made for a period of up to four years.
The cross-disiplinary group EarthFlows has been granted an extension for the period as a research Group. This means financing for Three more Doctoral Research Fellow- or Postdoctoral Research Fellow-positions, between 2019 and 2022.
The students at Department of Geosciences has made their verdict. In December last year Njord-director, prof. Bjørn Jamtveit, was presented with the "Lecturer of the year 2018"-award by The Geosciences Subject Committee.
Both prof. Anders Malthe-Sørenssen and Doctoral Research Fellow Joanna Dziadkowiec have been granted Fripro-funding from NFR for their projects. As the overall success rate for applications for funding from NFR this round was at only 3 %, we are thrilled that Njord's successrate was 33 %!
Njord's Anja Røyne won the prestigous Brageprisen for her Norwegian book "Menneskets grunnstoffer", which translates to "Human fundementals".
