SEFE and the EMS-CDC meet in Oslo

Welcome to the SEFE and the EMS-CDC meet in Oslo.

The program Stochastics in Environmental and Financial Economics (SEFE) is proud to host the annual meeting of the Committee for Developing Countries (CDC) of the European Mathematical Society (EMS).

The workshop provides a platform for discussion on the challenges and the strategies for an even developement of education and research in mathematics.

The EMS is a learned society representing mathematicians throughout Europe. It promotes the development of all aspects of matheamtcis in Europe, in particular methematical research, relations of mathematics to society, relations to European instiutions, and mathematical education. The EMS members include around 60 national mathematical societies in Europe, 40 research centres and departments, and circa 3000 individuals.

The CDC is the committee promoting mathematics in less developed countries. It promotes the links with universities, centres, and institutions helping with the development of mathematics curricula, specially research oriented and with the enrichment of libraries. It is assisting with the formation of regional centres and networks.
