EMPOWER is an UiO:Energy and Environment Convergence Environment aimed at developing an encompassing long-term strategy on sustainable batteries. Atia Tasfiah Azad, Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Technology Systems will talk about "Mapping the Electric Vehicle Battery Value Chain in Norway" at Skatten, Tøyen on March 19.

By answering its overarching research question: "How can EV batteries EMPOWER the transition to a net-zero energy system in Norway?", EMPOWER will develop an encompassing long-term strategy towards sustainable EV batteries.

The event series "Let's Talk About Energy" showcases early career researchers and provides an informal platform for discussing their work on topics related to sustainable energy and energy transition. We invite you to an evening of cutting-edge knowledge in a laid back atmosphere. We welcome you to continue discussions after the official program ends.

You will hear from:

  • Atia Tasfiah Azad, Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Technology Systems: "Mapping the Electric Vehicle Battery Value Chain in Norway"

  • Tuva Werner-Torgersen, former Master student at the Centre for Technology, Innovation and Culture: "Clearing Skies for Take-off - How the Aviation and Energy Sectors Prepare for the Energy Transition of Aircraft"

  • Torsten Hundebøl Hansen, Postdoctoral Fellow at the Department of Geosciences. Title TBA, but Hansen will talk about Carbon capture and storage (CCS)

  • Ingvild Bergsbak, Doctoral Research Fellow at the Centre for Materials Science and Nanotechnology: "Tandem solar cells: Why do we need them?"

  • Gulla Serville Torvund, PhD Candidate, Norwegian Centre for Nuclear Research:  "Turning Nuclear Waste into Valuable Resources through Plutonium Recycling"
