Background and current work

I am an environmental engineer specializing in life cycle assessment (LCA). After completing my studies, I worked in several fields, including corporate social responsibility (CSR), sustainability consulting, applied LCA, and methodological development in LCA.

I completed my PhD at the Chair of Sustainable Engineering at Technische Universität Berlin, focusing on methodological developments in water footprint assessment. Afterwards, I continued working at the same chair before undertaking a research stay with the Peruvian Life Cycle Assessment and Industrial Ecology Network (PELCAN) at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú. There, my research explored the potential domestic applications of emerging renewable energy technologies, particularly green hydrogen, using the Peruvian fishmeal industry as a case study.

At ITS, I work as a postdoctoral researcher, with my main responsibilities linked to the CH-CYCLE project. The project investigates renewable-energy-driven pathways for recycling CO₂ and H₂O into consumer products and fuels. My role focuses on assessing the sustainability of the associated materials, technologies, and processes.

Research interests

I am interested in applied LCA across a variety of sectors, including water, energy, and mobility systems. My research interests also encompass methodological aspects of LCA and broader sustainability assessment, particularly the evaluation of trade-offs across different impact categories and the application of approaches such as prospective LCA and social LCA.
