DHP4DPI
Digital Health Promotion for Digital Public Infrastructure
Figure 1: DHP4DPI in a glance
Duration
01.01.2026–31.12.2029
DHP4DPI is a collaboration between UiO, Jimma University (JU), and NIPH and aims to become a flagship for digital transformation in health promotion, health education, and community health.
DHP4DPI combines the two domains of health promotion and digital public infrastructure. The project builds on the ongoing Ethiopian-Norwegian collaboration in Global Health, manifested by the UiO - JU agreement from April 2016.
Norway (NO) is a leader in digital health innovations (DHIs) but lacks a low-resource environment for testing and validation, while Ethiopia (ET) offers the ideal context but faces challenges in developing the DPI to scale. Combining the two reinforces Norway’s research excellence and contribute to a novel concept to strengthen community health.
DHP4DPI will deliver 2 courses and 2 summer schools and digital public goods in WP1“Digital Health Promotion” and WP2 “Local AI for health”, complemented by WP3” exchange and mobility of students and staff”. DHP4DPI will contribute to SDGs (3, 4, 5, 9, 16, 17) through knowledge creation, community health and resilience, health efficiency and equity, reduced gender inequality, and partnerships.
