Abstract:
In many applications, it is necessary to consider commutative rings endowed with additional structure, for example the structure of a delta, lambda or Boolean ring. Often, these can be encoded as special kinds of monads, called plethories, developed by Tall-Wraith and Borger-Wieland. Recently, delta, lambda and Boolean rings have also been defined by various people using different approaches. The paper "Derived Plethystic Algebra" by Antieau-Hübner-Kubrak-Nuiten gives a general approach to constructing a derived category from specific plethories and proves that their construction agrees with the constructions in the literature. In this talk, I will give an overview over the results and ideas from this paper.
This is a part of the preprint-seminar which is run by the topology group this semester. The talk is based on Derived Plethystic Algebra and the references therein.
