Felix Küng (University of Liverpool): A-infinity structures and their obstructions

First of two lectures on constructing non-Fourier-Mukai functors

Abstract:

The concept of A-infinity structures allows a more hands on approach to working with dg-structures and hence is very suitable for actual constructions. In this talk I will introduce the notion of A-infinity structures and explain that they precisely model dg-structures while admitting an inductive nature. In particular we will cover the concept of A-infinity obstructions, which can be used for proving the non-liftability of certain A_n functors and non-existence of equivariant lifts from a derived category.
