The primary objective of the project is to advance the mathematical understanding of nonlinear wave equations, with a particular focus on integrable partial differential equations (PDEs) such as the Camassa–Holm and Novikov equations, including their behavior in the presence of stochastic effects. These equations occupy a central position in contemporary mathematical analysis and play an important role in the modeling of complex wave phenomena.
A key component of the project is the recruitment of Professor Dmitry Shepelsky, an internationally recognized expert in integrable PDEs and nonlinear wave phenomena. His expertise will directly strengthen the scientific capacity of NASTRAN, broaden its research portfolio, and enhance its international visibility. At the same time, the project will provide valuable support for maintaining and advancing Ukrainian research excellence under the challenging conditions imposed by the ongoing war.
