About the seminar series

The Master seminar series is a series of workshops offered by the Science Library, in collaboration with the Department of Mathematics at the University of Oslo. The seminars run in parallel to your master’s studies, designed to help keep you on track towards completing a master’s thesis.

Each semester offers a seminar that will teach you key academic and professional skills you need to progress. Topics include literature search, scientific writing, project planning, AI use, presentation strategies, and more.

Moreover, the seminars provide you with an arena to connect with your fellow students, academic librarians, research staff and professors. Here you will find resources and support to address your questions and enrich your experience at UiO.

When to attend each master seminar:

  • Master seminar 1: In your first study semester
  • Master seminar 2: In your second study semester
  • Master seminar 3: In your third study semester
  • Master seminar 4: In your fourth and final study semester
