Collaborating with the department

The department of Technology Systems is a part of Oslo Science Park-Kjeller, also known as "Kjellermiljøet". This is one of the largest research and development environments in Norway. It consists of about 3000 employees, 1500 of them are researchers in about 70 different businesses, it is also a member of The International Association of Science Parks.

Norwegian Defence Research Establishment (FFI)

The FFI is the chief adviser on defence-related science and technology to the Ministry of Defence and the Norwegian Armed Forces’ military organization. It focuses on the areas of mathematics, physics, information technology, chemistry, biology, medicine, psychology, political science and economics. The FFI collaborates with national and international scientific institutions and industry.

Institute of Energy Technology (IFE)

IFE is an international research foundation for energy and nuclear technology. IFE’s mandate is to undertake research and development, on an ideal basis and for the benefit of society, within the energy and petroleum sector, and to carry out assignments in the field of nuclear technology for the nation. The Institute strives for a more climate friendly energy system based on renewable and CO2-free energy sources.  

Norwegian Institute for Air Research (NILU)

NILU – Norwegian Institute for Air Research is an independent, nonprofit institution established in 1969. Through its research NILU increases the understanding of processes and effects of climate change, of the composition of the atmosphere, of air quality and of hazardous substances.

Justervesenet (Norwegian Metrology Service)

Justervesenet (JV) is a governmental agency under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries. JV is responsible for the Norwegian metrology infrastructure and for ensuring its national and international acceptance.

Norwegian Seismic Array (NORSAR)

NORSAR is an internationally recognized, independent, non-profit, research foundation within the field of geoscience. Their core competencies are seismology, applied geophysics and related software development. NORSAR is responsible for operating some of the world’s most advanced monitoring installations for observing earthquakes and nuclear explosions. Over the last 50 years, it has contributed with advanced research leading to cutting edge methods within automatic data processing and seismological analysis.

Kjeller Innovasjon

Kjeller Innovation is an international organisation working to generate value from research. Their specialist expertise is in the fields of energy, the environment, community safety and bioeconomics. We guide the innovation process – from an initial idea to a growing company. Our aim is to establish successful companies providing solutions that society needs.
