Academic Interests

Solid-state physics and materials science, with a focus on high-entropy alloys (HEAs), metal hydrides, and advanced hydrogen storage materials for sustainable energy applications. Research interests include materials design and compositional optimization, alloy synthesis by arc melting and mechanical alloying, phase formation and stability, microstructural evolution, hydrogen absorption/desorption behavior, reaction kinetics, thermodynamics, and catalytic enhancement. Advanced characterization and evaluation techniques include X-ray diffraction (XRD), Rietveld refinement, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), energy-dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and pressure–composition–temperature (PCT) measurements. Particular emphasis is placed on understanding the relationships between composition, phase constitution, microstructure, hydrogen storage capacity, equilibrium pressure, kinetics, and cycling stability. The broader objective is to develop efficient, reversible, durable, and application-relevant hydrogen storage materials.

Education

Ph.D. in Solid-State Physics, Banaras Hindu University (BHU), India.

Current Position

Researcher, Department of Technology Systems (ITS), University of Oslo (UiO), Norway.

Projects and Activities

Design and Development of High-Entropy Alloys (HEAs) for Hydrogen Storage

Design, synthesis, and characterization of multicomponent high-entropy alloys and HEA-based materials for hydrogen storage applications. The work focuses on tailoring alloy composition and phase constitution to improve hydrogen storage capacity, absorption/desorption kinetics, thermodynamic performance, phase stability, and cyclic durability. Advanced characterization techniques, including X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), energy-dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), are employed to investigate the structural, microstructural, and compositional characteristics of the materials.

AtLAST2 – Atacama Large Aperture Submillimeter Telescope

Contributing to the AtLAST2 project on the development of a sustainable hydrogen-based energy storage system for powering the Atacama Large Aperture Submillimeter Telescope. The work focuses on metal-hydride-based hydrogen storage integrated with battery systems, including the development and evaluation of hydrogen storage materials with suitable storage capacity, reversible absorption/desorption behavior, operating pressure, kinetics, and cyclic stability for reliable and sustainable telescope energy supply.
