Expertise & research interests

  • Materials scientist with 15+ years of extensive experience in synthesis and structural characterization of compounds for various technological applications
  • Expert in investigation of materials for energy conversion & storage with particular focus on hydrogen storage technologies
  • Specialist in material synthesis by metallurgical/non-equilibrium methods and structural/electrochemical/thermodynamic characterization of solid-state compounds
  • Crystallographer with expertise in design & execution of experimental studies on materials for energy conversion & storage with synchrotron X-ray/neutron diffraction techniques
  • Manager of laboratories for synthesis and characterisation of solid-state materials
  • Beneficiary and participant of various national/international projects on hydrogen storage materials, oxides, semiconductors and magnetic phases

I hold a doctorate in Crystallography from the University of Geneva, which I obtained as Marie Curie Fellow within the Research Training Network HYTRAIN. Before joining the Department of Technology Systems, I worked as a researcher at the Department of Physics (UiO), and as a postdoctoral research fellow at the Institute for Energy Technology in Kjeller (Norway). My research is focused on development of novel materials and components for sustainable environmental solutions. I am particularly interested in improving hydrogen storage technologies for renewable energy system applications. My work is highly cross-disciplinary, linking the material- and element-focused research with the system-oriented approach. As an individual, who is passionate about expanding borders, I love to apply my creativity and analytical skills to explore new possibilities, areas and connections.
