Attacks on OT systems—most recently incidents mentioned in Bremanger and Eastern Norway—receive significant media attention. What incidents have occurred globally over time, and what were the actual reasons attackers succeeded?
This thesis involves investigating which incidents have taken place and analyzing what actually happened, as well as examining the events in light of the geopolitical security situation (e.g., Ukraine, India-Pakistan, among others). What measures could have helped prevent these incidents? The thesis includes literature studies and interviews with experts in academia, government agencies, CERTs, and industry.
This project can be either 30 or 60 credits.
