He completed his Masters in Geology with Palaeontology at the University of Leicester, United Kingdom, in 2026. His research focused on the palaeogeographic distributions of Cambrian acritarchs, small organic-walled microfossils used as a proxy for phytoplankton, to identify range shifts in response to climatic perturbations and to examine their underlying ecology.

At PHAB, his project will investigate the habitability of the Late Ediacaran in Newfoundland, Canada, the location of some of Earth’s earliest complex life. He will use data from Mistaken Point and other localities around Newfoundland to model the ecological occupancy of these early communities. He will also attempt to collect palaeomagnetic data from Mistaken Point, aiming to better constrain the region’s Ediacaran palaeogeography.
