He completed his MSci in Geology at Imperial College London, United Kingdom, in 2025. His research investigated why old ocean floor stops subsiding as predicted by simple cooling models, and why the onset of this "seafloor flattening" differs between ocean basins. Combining 2D numerical models of mantle convection with global plate reconstructions, he showed that variations in melt depletion at ancient mid-ocean ridges control when small-scale convection begins beneath the lithosphere. Before joining PHAB, he worked as a mining consultant at WSP in London.

At PHAB, his project will investigate true polar wander during the Neoproterozoic Snowball Earth glaciations, when ice sheets may have reached the tropics. Redistributing vast quantities of ice, water and rock changes Earth's moment of inertia, which can cause the solid Earth to reorient relative to its spin axis. Combining geodynamic modelling with palaeogeographic reconstructions and scenarios for ice-sheet growth and decay, he will explore how these glaciations may have driven polar wander, and what this reveals about the links between climate, mantle dynamics and long-term planetary habitability’.

He will be supervised by professor Clint Conrad and associate professor Mat Domeier.
