João Fontoura

João Fontoura will work with Dr. Mathew Domeier for six months as a Guest Researcher, continuing and further advancing an ongoing collaborative project between UFRGS (Brazil) and UiO. The focus of his research will be the analysis of new paleomagnetic data from Ediacaran intrusive rocks from Brazil, a key interval marked by ongoing debate due to the anomalous behavior of the geomagnetic field during this period. The study aims to contribute to a better understanding of Ediacaran paleogeography and geomagnetic field behavior through the integration of paleomagnetic, magnetic mineralogy, and magnetic fabric data.
