He works in close collaboration with the Geological Survey of Norway and his place of work is in Trondheim. He will investigate recently acquired Paleoproterozoic drill cores from Gabon within the framework of GOE-DEEP (Gabon and Oxygenation of Earth – Drilling Early Earth Project). His research will focus on the sedimentology and geochemistry of carbonate rocks in order to better constrain the initial rise of atmospheric oxygen.

Timmu Kreitsmann is joining PHAB as a postdoctoral researcher for a three-year appointment associated with GOE-PHAB, from February 16, 2026.
