Wanlong is visiting from the Institute of Tibetan Plateau Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences (China). His research focuses on the Cenozoic tectonic evolution of the southeastern Tibetan Plateau using paleomagnetic methods. He will spend six months at the University of Oslo, collaborating with Dr. Mathew Michael Domeier to investigate the Mesozoic–Cenozoic tectonic evolution of the Qiangtang Terrane.
