I will discuss my doctoral work on SPIDER, a balloon-borne CMB polarimeter that flies from Antarctica and aims to detect the signature of primordial gravitational waves. SPIDER has flown twice, in 2014–15 and in 2022–23. I will begin by motivating ballooning: outlining their capabilities and giving historical and modern examples. I will then describe my experience integrating and deploying SPIDER-2 in Antarctica. Finally, I will summarize my latest project, pointing reconstruction for SPIDER-2 using the CMB itself.
