Title
"Ancestral variation in the non-coding genome and association with risk of non-commiunicable disease"
Abstract
Despite all the technological advances in experiment, computational and theoretical methods, our approach to understanding the human genome remains gene centric. Simon Rayner will present results from their efforts to take a network-based approach to characterising the non-coding genome, and to investigate how changes in network topology can be used as an alternative metric for disease risk. He will present some preliminary results showing how changes in network topology occur by ancestry and how this associates with Type 2 Diabetes.
