Academic interests

My major area of interest is the effect of particle radiation (protons, helium and heavy ions) to cells, tissue and organsim in the scope of radiation protection as well as development of new cancer therapy methods.

I try to connect basic physics, with engeneering and the applied research in biology and medicine.

My major focus lies intechnology development for Particle minibeam and FLASH radiotherapy as well as for basic biology experiments helping to understand the differential effect of particle radiation on cells. Furthermore my interest is on radiation protection for manned space flight, such as the mission to mars, and radiation hardness testing of electronic devices for space flight and earth based technologies such as fusion reactors.
