Academic interests

  • Quantum technology
  • Deep-level defects
  • Density functional theory
  • Electron-phonon coupling
  • Jahn-Teller effect

My research focuses on quantum technology applications based on deep-level defects in semiconductors. I use first-principles density functional theory to investigate their electronic, vibrational and vibronic properties, with particular emphasis on electron–phonon coupling and modelling optical lineshapes. I am especially interested in developing computationally efficient approaches for accurately modeling vibrational and vibronic structure, enabling accurate predictions of emission and absorption spectra of quantum emitters in materials such as diamond, silicon and silicon carbide.
