Abstract:
The goal of the Norwegian Nuclear Research Centre is to increase nuclear competence in Norway through long term funding of nuclear Physics and nuclear Chemistry research. The research includes topics from nuclear properties, nuclear fission and medical isotope production to reactor simulations and modelling the spread of radioactivity in the environment. Some highlights from the research will be presented, in addition to the new study programs in nuclear science. As another important aspect of this Centre is training the next generation of scientists to provide excellent candidates for both academia, industry, and public institutions.
