Project Motivation

Our understanding of nuclear reactors for military purposes are an unknown risk. The K278 submarine is a previous case studied and is still a relevant case for further open-source investigations.

Project Outcome

Simulations of advanced reactor behavior in ship accident conditions. This will inform emergency preparedness for nuclear propulsed ships, provide source terms for environmental impact studies, and inform regulators on appropriate regulations for such ships.
