The Award Winner 2024
The award committee for the Else Ragnhild Neumann Award for Women in Geosciences give Joanna Dziadkowiec the Neumann Award for 2024 for her impressive academic track-record, the scientific quality of her papers and her capacity in getting external funding.
Joanna Dziadkowiec is currently a Researcher at the NJORD – Centre for Studies of the Physics of the Earth, University of Oslo (UiO), currently working on mineral reactivity under confinement. She holds a FRIPRO Young Research Talent grant 'REACTivity under confinement: in-situ mineral growth within nano- and microscale volumes (link)', and is a team member in the research centre VICCO – VISTA Centre for CO2 Storage in Volcanic-Sedimentary Systems (link), at Dept of Geosciences. Dziadkowiec received her PhD in Condensed Matter Physics at the Department of Physics, UiO back in 2019.
An impressive academic track-record
The evaluation committee states that:
"Dr. Joanna Dziadkowiec has an impressive academic track-record, the scientific quality of her papers and her capacity in getting external funding. Since 2017, Dr. Dziadkowiec has published 12 articles, with 10 as the lead author (8 as the first author and 2 as the corresponding author), in top journals in mineralogy and chemistry. Two of her first-authored articles are cited more than 50 times."
