The Award Winner 2025

The award committee for the Else-Ragnhild Neumann Award for Women in Geosciences give Gabrielle Emma Kleber the Neumann Award for 2025 for her extraordinarily talent and dedication as a scientist.

Dr. Gabrielle Kleber is currently a Researcher at Department of Geosciences, at the UiT The Arctic University of Norway. Kleber obtained her PhD in 2023 at Cambridge University, after a Master at NTNU and BSc at Michigan University. After graduating with a PhD she has already secured external funding in the form of two NFR projects.

An extraordinarily talented and dedicated scientist

The evaluation committee states that:

"Dr. Gabrielle Kleber has published 6 papers, 4 of them as 1st author, with one in Nature Geoscience. She seems to be an inquisitive scientist, heavily involved in field campaigns, but also in teaching and outreach. The committee was impressed by her previous experience as a trained engineer and activity in the Circumnavigators Club Foundation. The nomination letter is very compelling and the committee is very impressed."
