Research on how to obtain safe and permanent CO2 storage

Where are the best storage locations, how does CO2 behave during injection and storage, and how can we detect any leaks out of the primary reservoir and assess potential environmental impacts?

Department of Geosciences is an important contributor to the centre’s research and activities, and last year we had two successful PhD dissertations with  candidates Anja Sundal and Rohaldin Miri.

About the FME Centres

Centres for Environment-friendly Energy Research (FME) are financed by the Research Council of Norway and user partners.

The purpose is to establish high-standard national and international research cooperation in order to solve specific challenges in the field.
