Background
Jan David Wagner is a PhD Research Fellow in the Department of Geosciences at the University of Oslo. His research focuses on the tectono-stratigraphic evolution and source-to-sink dynamics of the Upper Triassic–Lower Jurassic successions along the Mid-Norwegian rifted margin. By integrating 3D seismic stratigraphy, geomorphology, well data, and core analyses, his project aims to reconstruct depositional environments and sediment routing pathways during the initiation of continental rifting. The study contributes to refining paleogeographic models, improving predictions of basin evolution, and providing insights into early rift processes with relevance for both academic research and industry applications.
