Academic interests
Rikke is enthusiastic about the green transition and is motivated by applying her skillset to advancing the use of Carbon Capture and Storage. In particular in developing a better understanding of the stratigraphy of the sealing successions above the CO2 storage aquifers as these tend to be poorly sampled by hydrocarbon exploration wells. Nonetheless the spatial development of these are important to know in connection to de-risking storage containment and provide a good input for geomechanical models, well planning and long-term monitoring of CO2 storage sites.
Background
Rikke has a background in clastic sedimentology and sequence stratigraphy and a keen interest in clastic sediment from basin-scale dynamics to reservoir architecture and diagenesis. She have applied her skillset across the value chain in the oil and gas industry since 2003 and has a solid regional understanding of the geology of the North Atlantic from interpretation of grav/mag and seismic data, well logs, biostratigraphy, and core and cuttings data.
