The Goldschmidt Laboratory is a Norwegian national research infrastructure funded by the Research Council of Norway. It is a cluster of three laboratories available to researchers in geology, geochemistry and Earth Sciences based in Norway and abroad, who are dependent on microanalysis and on high precision geochronology.

Assignments

The Goldschmidt Laboratory Cluster supports analysis and sample characterization for academic research partners, research institutions, and for the industry.

Organization of the laboratory

The Goldschmidt Laboratory is hosted and led by Department of Geosciences, University of Oslo, in cooperation with The Geological Survey of Norway (NGU). The infrastructure consists of three high-end geological laboratories with advanced instrumentation and staff with highly specialized competence.
