AGENDA:
14:00h Welcome to AFSecurity at UiO
14:05h Invited talk

  • TITLE: Guarding the Guardians: How Sector Alarm Protects Itself to Protect Others
  • SPEAKER: Alexander Kenich, Sector Alarm
  • ABSTRACT: Deep-dive into alarm system operations: We’ll explain the high-level architecture of our systems and conduct theoretical attacks to test our security layers.
Attack Vectors and Defense Mechanisms: We’ll identify potential attack vectors and discuss the defense mechanisms we have in place. Importantly, we’ll address the trade-offs involved in security decisions—there’s no silver bullet, so where do we compromise? Which systems receive less protection?
Real-World Examples: We’ll review actual attacks that have occurred or were narrowly avoided, providing practical insights into our security challenges and responses.

15:00h Discussion.
