Professor Kristin Braa, the head of the HISP Centre, will present the new Climate & Health research project on how countries in the Global South can use open-source tools to integrate and harmonize climate and health data and leverage machine learning to support risk analysis, predict future trends, and forecast disease outbreaks.
The research project, which is being carried out in collaboration with local stakeholders in 10 countries in Africa and Asia, addresses how existing country-owned DHIS2 health systems can help close the climate-health data gap and support effective health interventions to respond to climate-related health risks.
