Abstract:
The idea behind is to generate solar power generation profiles based on solar panel detection from satellite images. We will combine this detection with the solar panel information extracted from Open Street Map (OSM). We will introduce why we need the detection from satellite images, and why we also need OSM and what OSM can help. We will show examples where OSM or image detection fails, thus illustrating that the combination of the two is necessary. We also show some preliminary results of the detection from satellite images for the city of Oslo.
