Trust Policy Language for the Maritime Sector

The maritime sector is in an interesting process of digitalised. That ranges from ship communication and route planning to autonomous ships, which add significant requirements to the security and reliability of these decentral systems.

The Maritime Connectivity Platform [1] provides the foundation for security and reliability that is needed, based on its identity. However, many of the practical components for real work services are still missing.

This project has to overlapping directions:

  • Further extent the Trust Policy Language and Trust System that defines relations over identities.
  • Specifying and implementing services for the Maritime Sector
protocols for decentral maritime communication. The focus will be on Trusted Data Reporting and Data Sharing based on the Trust Policy Language.
The target is to develop an example application. However, this should result in library software, that can be the foundation for later production software.

Furthermore, it will be expected to provide knowledge and text for future standards in the area.
