Oslofjord Digital Twin: Algal Bloom

In our group, we are developing a digital twin that visualizes the climate pressure on the Oslo Fjord. The digital twin includes sensor measurements in the fjord that can be used to predict events such as an algal bloom. Our digital twin also has the ability to incorporate these measurements into further simulations.

In this master's thesis, you will extend the existing digital twin to visualize events such as algal blooms. To do this, further sensor measurements must be included in the digital twin and the results of the simulations must be checked to see whether they indicate a specific event. This master's thesis provides insights into simulation techniques that are based on metrological models, but also include data-driven techniques for processing sensor measurements.
