About the Project
Hairy surfaces can be found on plants leaves, in the lining of blood capillaries and in a wide range of engineering processes. Common to all these surfaces is that they often interact with soft interfaces. In this project, we will discover the movement pattern of droplets on hairy surfaces and how these flows can be controlled. The project will
use experiments, theories, and computer simulations to understand how droplets interact with these fibrous surfaces. The project focuses on how the properties of the fibers, liquids, and surfaces affect how droplets behave, both in open spaces and tight channels. The project will reveal the droplet movement and how the fibers respond,
aiming to control how droplets travel by changing the surface properties. This research could lead to new ways to manage droplet flow by designing hairy surfaces.
