This service is for the moment interrupted due to lack of funding.

What we offer

We offer a 1 to 2 hour meeting, where you can discuss your problem with Data Science research staff from the Department of Informatics and the Department of Mathematics.

Who is it for

The service is available to all students and staff engaged in research at the University of Oslo.

We will not answer questions relating to coursework.

How it works

Who we are

This service is provided by the DataScience@UiO Innovation Cluster, in collaboration with BigInsight and SIRIUS. Our group of advisors consists of PhD students from DataScience@UiO, and senior research staff from BigInsight and SIRIUS.

The DataScience@UiO Advisory Service is founded on the data science competence at the Departments of Informatics and Mathematics. Through providing this service, we hope to be able to help researchers and students at the University of Oslo to exploit their precious data and to improve the quality of their research. Our advisory service will strengthen the data science community here at the University of Oslo: We want to build collaborations between researchers whose work is based on (often large and complex) data and us statisticians and computer scientists, whose methods extract information from data, discover patterns and make predictions. The service starts as a pilot which also will help mapping the demand.
