Abstract: This talk, which is suitable also for those not working with the cosmic microwave background and for master students, I will present the status of the so-called anomalies in the cosmic microwave background after Planck. These include unexpected features in the power spectrum and several possible signs of deviations from statistical isotropy. I will then show how a particular class of phenomenological inflation-like models could give rise to all these anomalies.
Cosmology seminar: Frode Hansen, Title: "Do the cosmic microwave background anomalies give unexpected hints of inflation?"
