Mathematica on the linux machines has been upgraded to version 9.0.1.

Mitra, one of our former important storage servers, was switched off this week after six years of operation. This also marks the end of the Solaris operating system at our Institute, which mitra was the last computer to run.

We have begun replacing the old, analog office phones with new, nifty VoIP phones.

We're still experiencing problems with the printer astro_farge2. Printing jobs have a tendency to hang or just output an error message.

The problems we experienced with xsan earlier this week have been solved and everything should now be running as normal. If you're still experiencing problems, please let us know (for example by sending us an email to data-hjelp@astro.uio.no).

We are currently experiencing some problems with the xsan storage system. The problems started yesterday afternoon and have caused all the Mac workstations to freeze up.
