CARTA is the Cube Analysis and Rendering Tool for Astronomy, a new image visualization and analysis tool designed for the ALMA, the VLA, and the SKA pathfinders developed by Academia Sinica Institute of Astronomy and Astrophysics (ASIAA)Inter-University Institute for Data Intensive Astronomy (IDIA),  National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO) and Department of Physics, University of Alberta.

Casa, the Common Astronomy Software Applications package, is being developed by NRAO with the primary goal of supporting the data post-processing needs of the next generation of radio astronomical telescopes such as ALMA and VLA.
