Status:
04.05.24, 18:00 We are done. All systems are up and ready for use. We have replaced two StorNext gateway servers with new hardware, removed the old 6 PB Hitachi storage from the system, resolved a couple of StorNext issues, upgraded Infiniband, metadata and admin network infrastructure switches and upgraded some remaining Macs. We did not upgrade Stornext and RedHat linux, because the StorNext 7.2 release was delayed again.
Early warning:
We plan a new downtime Thursday June 26. to Sunday June 29. to upgrade StorNext to version 7.2 and Red Hat linux.
04.05.24, 16:45 We are done with the StorNext related work. We now open for login on login.astro.uio.no so you get access to your files, but workstations and compute nodes remain down, as more work remains for tomorrow.

Downtime:
As previously announced, we are planning downtime on the computer system from Thursday May 2. at 18.00 to Sunday May 5. 2024.
During the downtime we will:
- Finish the migration from the old Hitachi hardware and remove it from the system.
- Replace two old StorNext gateway servers with new hardware (did not arrive in time for the previous downtime).
- Upgrade the Infiniband swithces in the clusters with new firmware and software.
- Upgrade admin and metadata switches with new firmware
- Upgrade some remaining Mac workstations
