IDL upgraded to 8.9

IDL has been upgraded to version 8.9 on linux and MacOS.

IDL astrolib has also been updated.

Be aware that there is a new license regime with IDL 8.7 that affects the way we license on laptops used outside UiO. Se here for more details.

To update IDL on your Mac laptop:

First dowload and install idl89-mac.pkg

then download and install idl_8.9_astro_laptop.pkg

At the end of the idl89-mac.pkg installation, the license manager will start. Enter alruba2.uio.no in the server field and click "secure connection".

With this release a new license manager is used, hopefully solving the license issues we have had with the previous version.

After installation, the IDL start scripts for command line usage will be located in /usr/local/bin. You can also use the IDL development GUI by starting the IDL app in /Applications/harris/idl/.
