LAMU:
- Meeting last week
- The students will get a survey about the corona situation, takes about 5-10 minutes.
Frode's proposal to hire 2. year students:
- Many people have responded to the questions from Frode. Got some good responses.
- The institute have received some more money due to the corona situation in order to improve the quality of the teaching.
- Use this money to hire second graders? If fo, not now, too late for that, but next year.
- A good idea, both for the teaching part and the social part. Can help to improve the connection between the first year and second year students.
- The second graders can also help the first graders get connections with other people at the institute, let them know what different people are working on, and maybe recommend a supervisor.
- Maybe have semi regular meeting, e.g. that a second grader is available on Mondays a certain time period, and the first grader can choose if they need help or not when Monday comes.
- Have some lessons for specific subjects that is known from experience from previous years to be a bit tricky to figure out alone, e.g. the computer-systems. Not easy to figure out as a first grader who you should ask for help with such problems.
Social events:
- Not much happening now, everyone has a lot to do, especially the second graders.
- If the weather is nice, it is possible to do something outside.
- Hopefully, the corona-situation is a bit better in June/July, so maybe possible to do something then. Have some sort of "avslutning" and catch up on the social. Do this after the last second graders have submitted their thesis - mid/end of June.
- Maybe buy boardgames to have in the Stellar Cellar if there are more money left on the budget?
