Guest Researcher

Background

I started as a PhD student at Addis Ababa University in October, 2018. My research interests are on Population ecology, specie distribution modeling, conservation biology and behavioural studies of Primates. My PhD research focuses on Population estimate, Distribution pattern and spatial ecology of Djaffa Mountains Guereza (Colobus guereza gallarum) in southeastern Ethiopia. I would like to 2) estimate abundance and density of a taxon across different forests in a fragmented landscape of the Ahmar Mountains, Ethiopia, 2) determine the distribution and extent of suitable habitats of the taxon in time of climate change, and 3) explore the effects of forest fragmentations on ecological response of this little known and Data Deficient taxon among forests fragments in the study region.
