I started my PhD in October 2019 at CEES. The project I will be working on is part of the European Union´s Framework Programme for Research and Innovation Horizon 2020 under the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Action “SeaChanges”.

My supervisors are Dr. Bastiaan Star (CEES), Dr. James H. Barrett (University of Cambridge) and Prof. Kjetill S. Jakobsen (CEES). My PhD focuses in the use of ancient DNA to determine the demographic and evolutionary patterns of the Atlantic cod over the last ~6000 years ago in northern and eastern Europe. During my PhD I will be based at CEES, but will have zooarchaeological training at the Department of Archaeology in the University of Cambridge.

Before coming to Norway, I studied a MA in Conservation Biology at Lund University in Sweden (2019) and a BA at UNAM in Mexico (2015). My professional focus during that period was in population genetics projects with mangroves and seagrasses.
