Mandatory HSE-training at MN

At the University of Oslo, all students and staff must have adequate health, safety and environment (HSE) competence for the tasks they are to perform. Knowledge of HSE is an important part of your study and work life. It is important that staff and students share a common understanding of this.

UiO’s HSE-training for employees includes many mandatory courses described in the policy on HSE-competence. Which courses that are mandatory for you as an affiliate of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences depends on your work tasks. Note that for many employees, mandatory training must be supplemented with local training.

For employees, HSE-competence is recorded in DFØ. HSE-competence may be required before you are granted access to facilities. Your manager can check whether you have sufficient HSE-training.

Mandatory HSE-courses

You are responsible for completing the HSE-courses that are mandatory for your role. You are also responsible for updating your training when your role and/or work tasks change. HSE-courses are required to get access to UiO’s facilities.

The HMS050X courses are offered via Canvas, you must first register for the relevant courses using the online forms via the links below. The courses will then become available on your Canvas dashbord.
