Magnus Saed Restan defended his PhD thesis

On November 18, Magnus Saed Restan defended his PhD thesis “Electromembrane extraction – enhanced theoretical understanding and new applications”.

Magnus’ work has been focused on further development of electromembrane extraction (EME) by increasing the theoretical knowledge of EME related to pH conditions, and its effects on the selective extraction of non-polar basic analytes. Additionally, Magnus has applied the EME concept to sample purification of unwanted matrix components, thereby increasing the sample preparation possibilities of EME. The experimental work represent a major step forward for EME, and contributes to moving EME from an academic setting over to routine laboratories and analytical industries in the near future.
