Professor Gail D. Hughes is Professor and Director of The South African Herbal Science and Medicine Institute at University of the Western Cape (UWC).
For more than 25 years, she has performed public health research as an epidemiologist and has conducted clinical trials in both the pharmaceutical industry and in academia. She is now a consortium member of the FP7 EU project “Multi-disciplinary University Traditional Health Initiative” (MUTHI) of which University of Oslo has the lead.
