Open positions, research stays etc.

• Do contact me if you would like to visit our group! This can usually be combined with empty slots in our theory seminar series.
• There is currently (status 2026-2028) also some budget for longer research stays that can be applied for.
• If you want to come here as a postdoc the options strongly depend on your country of origin. If you are from Japan, e.g., the JSPS Overseas Research Fellowship (海外特別研究員) is an excellent choice. Below I list some further typical pointers, in particular for European applicants:

European funding schemes (that apply to Norway as well) 

• I am part of the Humboldt network. This means that if you are German, or currently working in Germany, a Feodor Lynen Research Fellowship is a very attractive possibility, too.
• Likewise, if you are integrated into Germany’s academic research system, the Walter Benjamin programme of the DFG is a good option.
• For everyone else, the typical application for a post-doctoral stay here in Oslo would be a Marie-Curie individual fellowship (application deadline typically in September). The faculty here organizes master classes to support the application procedure, starting already in Mai - so make sure to get in touch early!

Norwegian funding schemes 

• If you took your MSc or PhD in Norway, applying for a post-doctoral personal fellowship with the Norwegian research council (NFR) is in excellent option that allows you to spend 1- 2 years here and 1-2 years at a foreign institution. 
• You can also apply for a position as part of a larger grant, e.g. a researcher project for Early Career Scientists. There are no deadlines for this call and you do not need an MSc or PhD from Norway.
• There are also some bilateral mobility programs that may be of relevance to you — check the collection provided by the NFR.
