All the seminars are open to all our master students, but the content of each seminar is tailored to fit your needs as you progress from new to experienced master student. Attendance is not mandatory, but is strongly recommended as participating will help you with your master project and thesis writing.

Note that the individual seminars require registration! More information about registering and a detailed program for each seminar will be sent out to you when the date draws near.

Below, you will find the main themes covered for each master seminar. We would also love your feedback and suggestions for themes that you would like us to address! If you have any feedback or questions regarding the master seminars, please contact the subject spesialist for Physics at the Science Library.

What's in it for me?

Throughout the seminars, we will cover many different academic and professional skills. You will learn how to search for academic literature efficiently, as well as different methods for reading scientific papers. We offer advice and practical exercises on academic writing, and show you how to make a proper bibliography and how a reference management tool can make your life easier.

We will also cover topics like how to make a great scientific presentation, what to consider when you are making your own figures and plots, and discuss to what extent you can use other people’s pictures and figures in your master thesis.

The seminars will include lectures, hands-on activities, discussions, invited speakers, social activities, help desks and more.
